Should determine the cause of the fire
According to operation manager may have been a short circuit that might have been the cause of the fire.
– It is too early to say anything about the cause. We hope to get answers after the crime technicians and Electric Authority has made necessary investigations.
Hard to say something about the explosion
According to Bernhoft was a Sony smartphone that exploded. Director Frank Otter Brook in Sony Mobile Norway writes in an SMS to NRK that they did not wish to comment until they have had formed a picture of what has happened.
Warns charging at night
Charging of mobile phones at night is a big challenge for safety, although it is very common to do so.
Journalist in tek.no Finn Jarle Kvalheim, a journalist in tek.no, has previously warned against charging mobile at night.
Mobile connector that is pushing the hose into may be worn, or it may have been bad for other reasons. This can cause an almost invisible electric arc with a temperature of at least 3000 degrees! And then there is unfortunately a risk that an insidious smoldering fire may occur, has NRK.no previously written about.
In 2010, there were 10.5 residential fires in Norway every day. That more than 40 percent are elrelatert, should be a wake up.
– One exposed himself to great risk by having energy consuming appliances and small electronics on while sleeping. Therefore we are pleased that over half of those surveyed do not use washing machine, dishwasher or dryer at night, but we have similar worries that three out of four charging cell phones and rechargeable toys at night, says Frode Remvang, head of the local electricity supervision (DLE ) in Hafslund to NRK.
In such situations, one should have a very good smoke detector to be awakened in time.
