It is not just offline turn-by-turn navigation you can download, but also update the maps with points of interest such as gas stations.
After competitor
Windows Phone users have had this opportunity for years through the excellent Here Drive app, but soon also Google Maps finally offer this opportunity to iOS and Android users
The update is rolled out first to Android, but will be available for iOS “soon”.
