accused of having provided incorrect number of cores in some CPUs.
AMD has a tough day, not only are they turned off Intel and NVIDIA on two fronts, now it also directed a lot of lawsuits against the company.
Bulldozer
AMD accused namely for having given false figures for the number of cores in the Bulldozer processor series, writes Neowin. In the lawsuit star that the company provide eight cores, but these only work as four.
The company’s micro-architecture is mentioned as one of the causes of this error information, as processors have eight cores, these modified and can not work individually.
Disagreement
In a Bulldozer CPU with eight cores, it is actually eight cores, but several components around is shared with an additional core. This is a “module” technology from AMD, where two cores working together for improved optimization, writes Neowin.
AMD for its part, denies the accusations and says that module’s design has minimal effect on the tag’s performance. In the lawsuit says however that “the reduced performance deceive customers who do not have the technological understanding.”
Card manufacturer may have to pay up to $ 5 million in fines if found guilty.
