Rarely people being stopped for this.
Although the self-running cars to Google has been involved in a single accident in over two months, one of them was stopped by police earlier this week for entirely different reasons.
Slow
car drove namely too slow. Certainly, Google has advised the Mountain View Police Department (MVPD) about the self-running cars, but this constable apparently has not been joined by the message.
Google has set a maximum speed of the self-running cars to 40 km / h for safety causes, and it is perhaps the last team on certain roads.
The cars are also programmed to be extra safe on the road. Among other things, they wait 1.5 seconds after the light has been green before they drive on, apparently because many accidents happen during that time.
160 000 km without accidents
Last week published the Google proudly a report showing that the self-running cars have not been involved in an accident in over two months.
Google boasted also that Halloween was a great help for testing the self-running cars.
– There were many superheroes and robots who were around Google this week. We asked some of them if they could hang around a bit they parked our cars. This allows sensors and software our extra training when it comes to recognizing children in all their unique shapes and sizes, writes Google in the report.
