While software updates are meant to fix the flaws, it happens unfortunately that such updates are creating new problems. We saw this, for example with one of the latest updates for Windows XP, which led to endless reboots on numerous PCs.
American Computer World can now report a new, serious errors that have occurred as a result of the new updates that Microsoft released for Windows earlier this month.
Specifically talking about the security update codenamed MS14-045, which was released along with a number of other repairs Tuesday 12 August and that should fix a number of vulnerabilities in the Windows kernel.
“Blue Screen of Death”
A few hours after the update was released users began to report problems on the Windows 7 forum. The problems which thus primarily seems to have hit Windows 7, is that PCs have installed the update meeting of the so-called “Stop 0×50″ error, also called the “Blue Screen of Death.”
This error message means that Windows simply stops working to prevent the error does further damage to the operating system. The user who wrote the first post about the problem on the Windows forum could not even start the computer in Safe Mode after installing the update, while others have managed to find temporary solutions.
It is unclear exactly how many who have been affected, but the thread on the Windows forum, writing well over 400 posts, of which many are reporting the same experiences.

Shortly after reports of the problem surfaced, Microsoft updated its information page about MS14-045 update with a request to simply uninstall the update, which should fix the issue.
– Microsoft is currently investigating problems associated with the installation of this update, and will provide more information soon. Microsoft recommends that customers uninstall this update. As an added security measure, we have also removed the download link to the update, the company said.
