Yes, you read that correctly. These glasses are made for the snaps of the Snap.
the Company previously called Snapchat dropper “chat” and change the name to Snap, Inc. At the same time introduces the “Spectacles”, a wireless camera-sunglasses with the launch already in the fall.
Something new
“in recent years We have worked with to develop a completely new type of camera, we call it Spectacles!”, writes the company in a press release today.
the sunglasses that were presented to a group of especially invited to be able to “catch a whole day with the Snaps on one charge”, and comes in three different colors.
They also claim in the press release to have built one of the world’s smallest wireless camera.
Experience your memories again
“What if you could see your memories the way you experienced? That is why we built the “Spectacles”, they write further about the new brillen.
Glasses are the result the company made in such a way and with such purpose that they should change the way we relive our memories.
As we can see in the video is not “Spectacles” an AR-of the spectacle such as the Google Glass, it has been speculated in the past. This is simply a sunglasses with an integrated camera that can communicate with a smartphone either via WiFi or Bluetooth.
New format
brillen so introduces Snap Inc. also a new video format that they have dubbed the “circular video”. They write further that “the Circular video is played in full screen on any device, in any orientasjoner and captures the human perspective, with 115 degree field of view.”
Coming soon
the Price is going to be 300 dollars, about 1000 Norwegian kroner, when it launched in the united STATES. Any European date, it is not so far, and it is rather doubtful that it comes in this round.
In the press release it states simply that the glasses will be available “soon”, so a launch this fall is likely.
Will feel
Even if the product now soon be out for sale then it is also in a limited number.
To the Wall Street Journal says Evan Spiegel, CEO of Snap Inc., that they are going to take it “quiet with the roll-out of Spectacles”, and that this project is more about that they (the company) want to find out how such a product fits into the lives of people and how it is received.
