Bodo Company limp in land another major contract – Bodo Nu

– It is with pride and pleasure that we again announces a new contract to supply electric deck machinery, this time for New Zealand’s first new deepwater fishing vessels of 20 years says a satisfied Tor Idar Øye, VP Sales at Rapp Marine Group.

The company Sealord Group which is located in New Zealand, has recently published a shipbuilding contract for its new super trawler. The ship was designed by naval architect Skipsteknisk and the contract for the construction and decoration of the vessels assigned Simek in Flekkefjord, Norway.

The expected delivery of finished ship is set to mid-2018.

– Rapp Marine Group, owned by PE fund North Asset Management, delivers electric deck machinery which includes complete winch system for pelagic trawl and semi-pelagic fishing for this 82.9 m long vessel. This is a complete package with electric winches and where the three main winches are equipped with four electric motors each, explains Tor Idar Øye.

FACTS: Sealords new pride

* Sealords new pride will be equipped with an ultra-modern factory where all catches are taken care of in the form of cash crops such as fillet, round frozen products etc., or in the form of flour and oil produced from raw materials on board.

* The new vessel will be a zero-emission ships where all catches are taken care of and processed into quality products to the consumer.

* With its total length of 82.9 meters and a width of 17.0 meters, the new vessel to be new Zealand’s largest factory trawler. With a planned capacity of 20,000 tons per year, the new vessel be an especially effective for harvesting and processing of raw materials.

* The factory ship will be able to fish all Sealords priority species, including hoki and pelagic fish such as barracuda, squid and mackerel.
