Berlin (ITavisen:) There were plenty more who could be enthusiastic about Yoga Book by Lenovo announced yesterday.
Lenovo Yoga Book
the little special 2-in-1 PC has been under development for three years and Lenovo have managed to keep their cards close to his chest until the unveiling.
Yoga Book has certain similarities with Microsoft canceled Courier project. Both take / took inspiration design from a traditional book and where Courier consisted of two screens, the Yoga Book a unique surface.
Note: We’ve seen the Windows 10 version.
let’s first look at the design. Yoga Book is impressive thin and to get to this size, it is obviously reached some compromises. Including the processor side. In Yoga Book sits an Intel Atom x5-Z8550 at 1.44 GHz. An m-processor was hardly space.
By connections we find micro-USB 3.0, headphone and micro-HDMI.
As with other products in the Yoga series, is also the unique hinge in place with some minor adjustments.
Keyboards surprises
we’ll admit that we were skeptical virtual, illuminated keypad. From before we know how boring it is to write on-screen keyboard on the tablet, and after what little we did try yesterday we were not completely sold.
Today we fortunately more time with the product and set us down so we normally use a laptop. Briefly, we pleasantly surprised. The keyboard vibrate when you press it and it helps to make the writing easier – at least for our part. After some testing, we wrote almost all sentences without mistakes and with more adaptation will only get better.
This keyboard is unlikely to be as good as one with physical keys – the latter is complete superiority, but will certainly satisfy requirements for more.
We asked Lenovo if it will be possible to change the keyboard layout to Scandinavian / Norwegian, but there was great uncertainty. Note that it is possible to produce æøå to, but you do not see the letters on the keyboard – for the time being.

Notes on sheets on your PC
pen is also an exciting aspect with Yoga Book. Either by typing directly on the surface or on a note pad that you put on top of it. Prefer one pen and paper, the latter is excellent. Tip of the supplied stylus snuff depending on whether you want to write on paper or directly on your PC.
It’s surprisingly good to write on your PC, without handouts, and it feels more like real paper . Something we can not say about the iPad Pro and Surface when the screen is much smoother. The pen is accurate and the delay is so small that you will not suffer from it – it is also true when you write on paper.
(Provisional) Conclusion
no doubt that Lenovo Yoga Book is an exciting product and we feel that this is perhaps something Microsoft feels that the original Surface RT should have been.
we ask ourselves positive to the keyboard. It would hardly be as well to write that on a physical keyboard, but for some it will work well enough. One thing we have not been checked, is what it’s like to write on for a long time, but it does it answer when PC comes installed on the test bench.
The pen also works superbly. It has all 2048 pressure levels which records how hard or easy you write with the stylus. This is probably more aimed at writing than for example drawing, but it can certainly be used for both.
Intel Atom processor that sits in your PC can be a bottleneck in an otherwise solid product. We tested the use of Word, OneNote and Edge – to the usage it works fine, but if you start to do something more advanced, the question is whether the CPU can keep up.
Lenovo Yoga Book released this month. We’re still waiting on Norwegian prices from Lenovo.
