Microsoft cuts further several thousand jobs – digi.no

Microsoft will the next twelve months reduce the number of positions in the company with 2850, this is in addition to previously announced cuts. And in May, Microsoft announced that it will eliminate 1,850 jobs. This writes Business Insider, referring to a report Microsoft has submitted to the US Securities and Exchange Commission.



Mobile Operations

Both cut round which was announced in May, and it has been announced now , will greatly affect the hardware part of the company’s smartphone business. But the now announced cuts round will also affect the company’s global sales operations.

In all, Microsoft should have eliminated approximately 7,400 positions in the fiscal year that ended on June 30 this year. Also, most of these should have been associated hardware part of the mobile operations of the company.

At the end of last month Microsoft had about 114,000 full-time employees employees again globally, of which 63,000 are employed in the United States.
