The Internet Archive has long had a large collection of games and software available via online emulator, and now this has been extended to also support the Amiga platform. Now the site has a collection of over 10,000 games, demos and applications for the platform. Over 2,000 of these applications are games.
The emulator used is UAE-based Scripted Amiga Emulator. It uses the Amiga-like AROS operating system rather than the actual AmigaOS, and it is quite likely this affects the compatibility of some games. The system also works quite unstable right now (either that, or so many of the games misconfigured).
Documentation is also not that significant, but I have certainly found that left shift button works like shooting button joystick games. You control the stick with arrow . What one may do in games for two, I do not.
Take a look at these Norwegian classics
Two of games available is Edgar M. Vigdal Deluxe Pac-Man and Deluxe Galaga. This is obviously clones of Namco’s classic Pac-Man and Galaga, but they are very well done, and has its own elements that make them interesting to play. Norway was never particularly well represented with games on the Amiga (there was something different with demo scene), but these are two Norwegian game like many international Amiga owners remember with great fondness. Unfortunately died Edgar Vigdal last year.
Here’s Deluxe Pac-Man (Version 1.1a – you can also test 1.7).
Deluxe Galaga version 1.9 (I had problems with several of the other versions, but there are more):
Pictured above are general from an early Amiga classic, namely Sensible Softwares Wizball (1988). It works well in the browser, but please note that it can be a bit frustrating before you get hold of the controls.
