It has been on the cards for some time that Android 7 just around the corner, especially considering that the latest developer version of the operating system recently came out. Now it seems that the specific date has been revealed, reports among others 9to5google.
Android 7 will most likely be released on 22 August. The information comes from a Canadian wireless carrier named Telus, which recently published an overview of the upcoming software updates on their websites.
Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X pioneered
The date is therefore not officially confirmed, but Telus was the same company that last year revealed the release date for Android Marshmallow, which proved to be entirely correct. There is therefore good reason to give credence to Android 7-date.
As usual it’s Google Nexus models receiving the update first, specifically models Huawei Nexus 6P and LG Nexus 5X. It is unclear when the operating system will be rolled out to other models.
Among the new Android 7 is multi window mode, which facilitates the use of multiple applications simultaneously, picture-in-picture functionality and opportunity to respond to message notifications directly from the notification window.
