Earlier this week were the brothers Joakim and Jørgen Korstad out with the metal detector on a field in Stjørdal. The trip was not quite as they had thought in advance.
We had not really expected to find anything other than buttons and bullets, but suddenly we got the impact on the metalldetektoren, ” says Jørgen.
– Completely out of the blue emerged a large bronsealderfunn!
Just under the surface, they found nine axes and a spearhead. Several of the objects were in the same hole.
Fylkesarkeolog Lars Forseth call found for a sensation.

“When we spotted it we realized that this was something the archaeologists would be interested in,” says Korstad.
Found is probably from the bronze age dating to 1700-500 bc.
It was Stjørdals Blad who first talked about the case.
– It is big!
Fylkesarkeolog Lars Forseth tells us that this is one of the largest bronsealderfunnene as is done in Norway in recent years.
When I heard about this I did not know quite what I would think, ” says Forseth.
Now he has seen the discovery with their own eyes.
– What is very special is the scope and density between the objects, he tells us.
Korstad says that there was a large attendance when there was an inspection of the site. But exactly where the objects were found, he and his brother did not say anything about.
– We can say that it is in the Stjørdal municipality, ” says Korstad.
the Findings are now handed over to the science Museum in Trondheim.
Need to implement the measures for protection
Terje Søvik, chief county executive in Nord-Trøndelag seems to have found a very exciting.
This is a confirmation that we have been a center of activity earlier in the story, tells Søvik.
Objects are now taken care of that the science Museum in Trondheim.

He believes it is very likely that it will now be more digging in the area where the discovery was made. In this connection, it is also important that the landowner is being attended to.
– For a landowner, this can be experienced as burdensome, but we have a responsibility for the whole. It to balance the different concerns are important to us, it is important to find the good balance, ” says Søvik.
– very special
the Brothers have previously found ancient artifacts, but most of the time it is something completely else they can find.
90-95 per cent of what we find is modern rubbish, ” says Korstad.
Now, the brethren have been blood on the tooth, but know that such findings are not hverdagskost.
– It is like when you fish salmon and get a proper big one, you think you should get one that is as great of a time. It is not so, ” says Korstad.
