A mysterious virus spreads Tuesday on Facebook that wildfire in Russia and Denmark.
The virus leads to you being tagged in a video Facebook friend. Clicking on the notification you receive from Facebook, spread the virus to your friends.
Currently it is unknown what the virus does, other than that you involuntarily tags else on your friends list, but in such situations it is always recommended to change your password.
The virus started, according to the Russian news agency Tass in Russia on Tuesday morning, and the virus will probably also frame including Norwegian users.
Security expert Peter Kruse in CSIS says Danish BT that the virus can be characterized as a worm that spreads and tags others.
– It says it is a private video and it tempts people. It is a refined, fast spreading code, he said.
CSIS is working feverishly to find out how the virus can be removed.
– You must not say yes to something that looks suspicious. Do you see any being tagged in these mysterious videos, you should contact the person and tell them that they probably have said yes to something once too much.
Facebook has not yet answered Tass’ inquiries.
Hai-virus
In November there was a video which allegedly shows a shark eating a naked woman that was spread on Facebook.
clip purporting to be from YouTube and so real at first glance, but it installed a virus on your computer as soon as you had clicked on it.
Such viruses are designed to destroy your computer or to put systems out of service.
Hoax Slayer, a website specializing in online fraud, advises everyone to to be on guard against “shocking videos” on Facebook. Many of these can be pure fraud.
According to Hack Read there is an increase in such scams videos online. Especially on Facebook using hackers now this method often.
Exploited plane crash
What happens in this video is so wonder everyone thought it was a joke.
One of the last examples Malaysian airlines flight which crashed. Hackers created fake Facebook pages in victims’ names to make money. Another scam video claimed that the missing plane from the same company were found in the Bermuda Triangle.
Also Formula 1 star Michael Schumacher Skiing accident was exploited by hackers. A video claimed that Schumacher was dead, while the whole was merely an attempt to drive traffic to certain websites.
Like Hoax Slayer warns Hack Read against the new fraud trend. They ask people not to click on the video links that claim to be shocking videos.
– The smartest thing is to stick to clips from authentic sites like Youtube, and only selected Facebook pages.
