Trial
> The dispute between Google and Oracle began in 2010 when the latter sued the other for infringement of copyright.
Google argued that Java APIs in the lawsuit was essential for software innovation and thus could be covered by copyright protection.
In May 2012 came a jury determined that Oracle’s Java APIs can not be copyrighted, but a federal court reversed the verdict in 2014. The US Supreme Court refused to take the case in 2015, and sent it back to a lower court.
