Do not start the email with this word – Rome Blad

You can see at once why it is wrong.

[Manager] Writing is an art – and it’s continued to make mistakes. But it’s also an art to express themselves so that the recipient understands the message. And when sending e-mail, so it is important not to estrange themselves competent to communicate with.

and the quickest way to do just that on is, according to the hotel chain boss and businessman Jonathan M. Tisch, starting an e-mail with “I”.

– The first my boss taught me that whenever you type a letter – or an e-mail in our days – you should never begin a paragraph with “I”. It sends namely automatic message to the recipient that you consider yourself more important than the person you are communicating with, he says in a longer interview with New York Times.

Tisch mean one is better to write if one finds other ways to start sentences with than “I”. You must then namely think through what you will get there in a different way.

And it fits well seems we. Just try yourself, start your paragraphs with “I” and see if it seems very self-centered. And then attempt to write them.

If this is the e-mail in connection with the job or there is an update to your girlfriend it’s a long time since you’ve seen, so it works better without the “I” at the beginning of each sentence. Not to talk about in job applications. (ANB)
