Adobe announced this week that the next edition of the company Flash Professional tools have been renamed to Animate CC. At the same time the company advocated the use of web standards such as HTML5 and WebGL.
– Flash has played a leading role in bringing new opportunities to the Web. From sound and animation, interactivity and video, Flash has helped to push the Web forward, the company said.
Maturity
– Today, open standards like HTML5 matured and offers many of the capabilities Flash ushered in, according to a blog post. Meanwhile, the company writes that Flash continues to be used in certain areas, such as web-based games and advanced video, where the open standards may not have grown to be as mature.
– Due to the emergence of HTLM5 and demand for animations that leverages web standards, we have in recent years completely rewritten tool [Flash Professional, journ. note] to embed support for HTML5 Canvas and WebGL. To more accurately represent the position of the tool as a leading animation tools including web, will Flash Professional renamed Adobe Animate CC, starting with the next release in early 2016, the company said in a separate blog post, which also mentions a part of news in the upcoming tool.
Increased use of smart phones and tablet without support for Adobe Flash, has contributed to this development. But also on other devices, it has long been a certain resistance to Flash, partly because of security problems and high resource usage.
The news has no effect on the product most forbinner with Flash, namely browser plug-in Flash Player. On the contrary announced Adobe this week among a partnership with Facebook to ensure that Flash-based games in Facebook to run reliably and securely. It includes among others that Facebook will notify Adobe security related issues that Adobe may use to enhance Flash Player.
