Scientists have tested the North Korea’s own operating system – VG

North Korea’s internal operating system is closed to the outside world and users are monitored, according to two German scientists.

Researchers Florian Grunow and Niklaus Schiess has investigated North Korea’s Red Star operating system OS. Operating does not give users access to the Internet outside the country, only to state media and some public approved sites.

Background : It is North Korea’s own operating system

The two Germans obtained the software from a website outside of North Korea and say they do not know how many North Koreans who use the system.

Red Star is according to researchers difficult to tamper with. Users who attempt to change the basic settings or disable the firewall are greeted by an error message or the computer restarts by itself.

Prohibited material dispersed happily in North Korea through the use of USB memory stick. Red Star handle it at all files or documents in a PC being tagged so that it is possible to track who has opened or created them.
