An entire apartment building was evacuated.
[Avisa Nordland] Emergency services jerked Monday afternoon out to a fire alarm in Bodø. A mobile phone exploded during charging.
No one was hurt.
According to police, there have been open flames in the apartment.
– It’s been scorching the floor where mobile lying, says operations manager Mads Bernhoft at Salten police district.
– The plan is that we take into mobile to forensic examination so that we get clarity of what has happened, says Bernhoft.
Phone exploded the same day as Rome Blad warned against charging mobile while you sleep.
Police suspect that there has been a short circuit, but do not want to speculate on the cause until crime technicians have their say.
The block in which the mobile owner lives in were evacuated when the fire alarm was triggered.
He recalls that fire or explosion related to charging of mobile phones has happened before.
– And it’s going to happen again. When we know that many mobile charger at night or unattended, we know that there is a risk associated with this, says Mads Bernhoft. (ANB)
