Game: Some older games will run better with the version to 4.5.
With version 4,5 of the PlayStation 4 software get PlayStation 4 Pro a useful new trick.
Running old games at full speed
The new “Boost Mode”setting can be found under the Settings/Settings menu of the PlayStation 4 Pro, and the “overklokker” old game so it may run a little better.
Before reacted PlayStation 4 Pro on older games by running them in a sort of compatibility mode, which means that both the processor and the grafikkbrikken was clocked down to the original PlayStation 4-level to ensure compatibility.
With Boost Mode turned on to the games get access to the full power of PlayStation Pro – and this can in several cases make the games better to play through.
Especially games with variable frequency
This applies especially to games with variable frame rate, but also games that aim at, for example, 30 or 60 pictures in skundet and not quite when up on the PlayStation 4.
Games that are locked to 30 or 60 frames per second is, however, not affected if they run stable with this frame rate.
The speed increase will also apply to load times, ” says a spokesperson for Sony to The Guardian:
– Boost mode allows PS4 Pro to run at a higher GPU and CPU clock speed to improve the game on any PS4 games that were released before the launch of the PS4 Pro.
the Game that has the variable frame rate can get higher frame rates, and loading times can also be shorter in some games.
Sony also says that the “Boost mode” can cause problems with some games, but then only to turn it off and run the games in normal mode to get rid of the problems.
