Since the Unicode standard has been updated and in an upcoming update of Apple’s operating system (iOS 8.3), it will thus be new Emoji too. Now iPhone developers gained access to update, and can therefore reveal how the new Emoji will look, writes TechCrunch and Emojipedia.
The change that has received the most attention is naturally that humanoid icons shall hereafter represent five skin tones, from very light to completely dark. To select something other than the standard yellow, you must press and hold the icon, then brings up a menu.
You also get the opportunity to choose the skin color on Emoji as “thumbs up”, “thumb down, “” OK sign “,” fist-bump “,” wave “and similar gestures.
In iOS 8.3, which is probably several months away, you get thus more choices when selecting a appropriate emoji.
It can be anything from a black Santa Claus, or a cyclist might appear more like an southern European Alberto Contador than a pale Thor Hushovd. The same goes for girls, boys, women, men, babies, princesses and policemen – all come in five varieties.
Besides complexion update, it has a number of new flags. The Norwegian flag is one of 27 new flags that are included in the Unicode standard. In addition, Apple has included tons of other flags as well, which are classified as optional.
Not surprisingly, Apple has also included three new icons that illustrate their own products: A new iPhone icon, Apple Watch- icon and a iMac icon.
