How “Apple Pay” – ITavisen.no

What you should know about the new mobile payment.

Monday, 13 October 2014 – 1:58 p.m.

Apple blog 9to5Mac is usually always early and reveals things Apple would rather wait talking about.

They start in the United States
And now they’ve done it again; They have looked at how Apple Pay works in practice. See pictures of the app here.

Unfortunately not open the service in Norway this month, only in the United States. Walgreens is probably one of the first, with Apple Pay in operation already coming Saturday we believe 9to5Mac.

We know nothing about when the service comes to Norway, as Apple has talked about other than their home country.

It is no wonder that they start at home.

Apple Pay seems to be an elegant solution, but not all the big American chain wants to be with. Apple

Therefore they waited
Apple was in fact smart, waiting for VISA and MasterCard’s new requirements for the stores.

They require namely from October 2015 that the shops leaves from old-fashioned sveip- and signature security, the European card with chip in combination with a PIN. Many of these terminals will also support NFC.

Unlike other phones with NFC may not Apple’s iPhone 6 and 6 Plys used for anything other than the payment, probably to emphasize safety.

How it works

Use your iPhone camera, so you will not have to enter manually. Apple

To add credit to use Apple’s Passbook app that comes with iOS, log on to your iTunes account his or even simpler: Scan your card memo using the phone’s camera.

Passbook can store up to eight credit or debit card.

The service is deeply connected to bank card is linked, via a quick link to the bank’s own app on the App Store – you will also see a list of recent transactions that are done with the attached card.

Updating card info Automatically
You can enable push notifications per card, and thus be alerted seconds it is aktivetet on the card.

If your card has expired, update Passbook automatically with the new information (users get push notifications when this happens).

There is thus much to be in place, so we really have no illusions that this is going to Norway shortly.

But we need to see how popular it is first, and many are the not interested in cooperation with Apple, and try their own technical solutions, including giants like Walmart and BestBuy.
