Xiaomi phone launches globally – DinSide

Your page Though man in the street in this country probably never heard of Xiaomi (pronounced sjavmi), it is actually the world’s third largest mobile manufacturer, after Samsung and Apple.

It is not bad for a company that is only five years old.

Xiaomi focuses primarily on the Chinese market, although it is fine possible for Norwegians to get their hands on their phones by ordering from abroad. Now they will launch a new phone globally.

Although we borrowed an MI2 for scant two years ago; a phone that the time cost below 2,000 dollars and still be able to cope with the far more expensive top models.

Launches model i , tomorrow

In August 2013 they secured themselves a Android bosses, Hugo Barra. He works as a vice president in the company and has been responsible for the globalization of Xiaomi.

And tomorrow, it seems that Mr. Barras work will be displayed. Then namely phone i , which is showcased at a press conference in New Delhi at 11 Norwegian time.

The launch will be live streamed from Xiaomi via their website and it will be interesting to see if also the Norwegian market with the global launch.

The company has a tradition of selling very cost effective smart phones that get good reviews in many places – for example, tested the US site The Verge company’s recent telephone, Mi Note, and called it “The best phone you can not have”, since it is not for sale in the United States.

What can we expect?

It is difficult to say but it seems that it is a flagship that will be launched and which will compete with the other top models in the market.

We have now followed the press conference from Xiaomi and although “Global phone” was announced in advance, they launched a phone in India, which will also be found for sale in some Asian countries the next few weeks – Taiwan, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore.

Mi4i called phone, which has a 5 “screen (full HD), 2nd generation Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. In the presentation showed that Xiaomi phone scored 40,000 points in AnTuTu test, which is about the same as Honor 6.

The cameras are on 13MP (f / 2.0) and 5MP (f / 1.8) and battery 3120mAh, which is quite a lot compared to the size of the phone. Mi4i supports also fast charging via a 10W charger.

The price was however very interesting compared to the competition, with a price tag of 12,999 rupees, or around 1,600 Norwegian kroner. Specification wise it is weaker than the top model, MI4.

Also treningsarmbåndet Mi Band becomes available in those countries. According Xiaomi they emit one million such month, making it the best selling fitness bracelet. It is the waterproof (IP67), the battery life of approximately 30 days and costs just over an hundred kroner (999 rupees).
