Internet of Things becomes an increasingly hot topic, and Microsoft is trying to entice developers to use WIndows instead of Linux to IoT projects.

As part of this process, Microsoft launched a test version of Windows 10 Knott PCs, such as Raspberry Pi 2

The edition is named Windows IoT Core and can be downloaded now.

Applications for Internet of Things
Windows 10 on Raspberry 2 consists of nothing visual interface such common Windows does.

The intention is rather to use the Windows platform to develop mobile applications to Internet of Things projects.

Microsoft admits, however, that the test version may be unstable, so expect a few niggles here and there (some drivers may be missing, for example).
