The most expensive Apple Watch models have poorer display – ITavisen.no

Sensational disclosure.

Monday, 27 April 2015 – 10:41 p.m.

Display Mate has tested panel of Apple Watch and Watch Edition models (the most expensive with safir- glass).

Safir is not the best at everything
conclusion is that Watch Sport has a better panel because it is covered by Ion-X glass instead of sapphire.

Ion-X is much better to eliminate reflections than sapphire, although the latter can withstand more.

Ion-X is less than 5 percent
Display Mate has not tested Watch Sports panel, but since they have the same panel protection, there is little reason to believe anything other than that they reflect less light:

“Reflections on an iPhone 6 with Ion-X glass measured at 4.6 percent.

That means an Apple Watch with sapphire crystals reflect 178 percent of light reflected on an iPhone 6, “reports the panel experts.

Paying more for poorer contrast
This means that Watch and Watch Edition has lower image contrast, but how this is perceived in the real world, we must wait to get the answer to.

Apart from this drawback gets OLED panels very good references from paw to Display Mate. The color spectrum is correct calibrated and matched even iPhone 6.

Withstands much
Moreover Consumer Reports has measured how much the two screens can tolerate. Watch Sport gets 7 out of 10, while Watch and Watch Edition with sapphire lands on impressive 9 out of 10.

For those who want to train with the clock, it’s nice to know that the same rag tested pulse meter and found that it is very precise.
