- Microsoft has nothing to fear from iPad Pro – ITavisen.no

Gartner doubt that new iPad Pro is the “ultimate PC replacement.”

Yesterday, Apple announced a smaller iPad Pro model with size as an iPad Air 2.

– No effect
During the event said Apple Phil Schiller, among other things, that Windows was designed for a world before the Internet, app stores and social media.

– When users of older PCs see the features and performance and capabilities of a product like the iPad Pro, designed for the modern, digital lifestyle, many of them regarded it as “the ultimate PC replacement, pronunciation Schiller from the stage.

Gartner analyst Steve Kleynhans thinks that Microsoft and Windows manufacturers have little to fear from new iPad Pro:

– So far we have not seen any impact from the iPad Pro on Windows 10-ventures with companies. I would say that companies are moving very rapidly towards Windows and nothing from Apple has slowed it. I do not think a smaller version of the same product is going to change that, says Kleynhans to Computerworld.

IDC agree
vice president of IDC, Lauren Loverde, seems to have the same vision as his colleague at Gartner and commented particularly Schiller’s statement that there are 600 million PCs that are over five years old.

– instead of buying a new PC, they choose either to buy a new tablet, and whether Android or iPad or anything else, there is every chance that these customers have purchased something they use as an alternative to the PC. They still have your PC when they need the functionality of a full screen, a keyboard and a mouse, and the like, says Loverde to Computerworld.
