Should you buy a Windows operating system in physical format has long been DVD which was the only way – one could possibly also obviously put an ISO file onto a USB stick.

Future without optical drives

It is the latter which now becomes an official release from Microsoft. The company confirms the fact that they will sell Windows 10 on USB sticks, shortly after the launch of the operating system in late July.

Microsoft has already opened for reservation of USB versions of Windows 10 Home and Pro via Amazon, and the prices of 120 and 200 dollars for the respective editions.

Release dates for these are currently on 30 August, it is not clear whether this is the final issue date.
