Sony: – We will not change the decision – ITavisen.no

PS4 will not backward compatibility.

Thursday, 18 June 2015 – 8:54

During E3 it became clear that limited Xbox 360 backwards compatibility for Xbox One is on the way.

It pleased many, and the news got both games journalists and users themselves, to shift the focus over to Sony. Could it be that Sony has now changed his mind too?

Impressed Xbox
Unfortunately, no. We will probably not see PS3 games on the PS4 (besides those available through Playstation Now).

Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida was impressed with Microsoft’s news, but it “does not change anything,” he said Polygon.

– The news was interesting and the technology involved has to be very challenging. But our announcement does not change. I think not that we want to change our approach to this. Playstation 3 does not have backward compatibility, said Yoshida.

– Difficult to do
One can, however, play a part PS3 titles through Playstation Now, Sony’s pouring service games, so until further notice will be consolation.

If we future consoles can get backward compatibility from Sony, says Yoshida following:

. It is difficult to get to. I’m not saying we will never do it, but there’s no easy thing to do.
