Man in 70s killed in boating accident – Bergens Tidende

The boat ran ashore Friday night at Hosøy Lindas.

A man in 70s was killed after his boat ran ashore on Hosøy Lindas municipality.

police were notified of the accident at 20:00 Friday night.

– We have confirmed that there was only one person in the boat. The person should have received cardiac arrest shortly after the accident, said operations manager Terje Magnussen in Western Police clock 20.50 Friday.

The man also had injuries to his face, he informs.



People in starting CPR

Surgical manager says that people who were nearby began to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the man. Then took paramedics when they arrived at the scene.

– The paramedics should have come to the place quickly, but I have no overview of the exact date right now, says operational manager in 21.30 o’clock.

In 22 o’clock, an hour after the accident, police said that the man is dead. Relatives are notified.





No fallen into the water

Earlier this evening told witnesses to police motor boat still going on, and that they saw a person on land.

All emergency services, as well as air ambulance and divers were sent to the spot to investigate.

Early messages from witnesses indicated that it could be someone in the water, but this was disproved.

the cause of the accident and the death should be investigated by the police.

this is the second serious boating accident in Hordaland in the past day. Early Friday morning killed a 67-year-old man in an accident in Gulen.
