We think about iOS 9 – ITavisen.no

These enhancements we appreciate.

Friday, 3 July 2015 – 5:00

We’ve tested iOS 9 since its launch in early June. It’s all the little things of nines that make the overall experience better.

You will not be shocked
Those who expect a change as we saw from 6 to 7 is disappointed / can breathe a sigh of relief:

iOS 9 builds on the visual style of iOS 7 and 8. Apple has just embellished a little bit on the visuals than its predecessor.

The performance feels like in iOS 8, which is not bad for a beta number two. So does the battery life after we upgraded to the latest beta. The first version was a real greedy batterityv.

The rumor that iOS 9 focus is on performance (even on older iOS devices) and stability can well imagine voting, but answer is not forthcoming before final version is tested on some older devices. Beta 2 running no matter quickly and smoothly on the iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2.

Some smoother multitasking
Multitasking view is one of the to-do thing to notice. To double-click the home button is something anyone with an iPhone or iPad do many times a day.

Now sorted apps more like a deck. That way it is easier to flip back and forth to open apps with the thumb, especially on a device with a larger screen like an iPad.

Moreover sorted those on which ones you use the most.

A little about Apple Watch OS 2
The same was true for Apple Watch OS 2 beta 1; after upgrading to beta 2 was the battery life as with Watch OS 1.

That’s about all we have to say about Apple Watch OS 2 writing for the simple reason that it is still lacking third-party applications running on actual clock. Some new digital album-clock faces are in place, but they are not so terribly exciting.

The biggest new feature we’ve noticed is Time Travel – turning the crown back or forth, and time and events updated in real time on the digital clock face.

The little things
You will therefore not be shocked what meets you, but that does not mean you should be disappointed, it just takes a little longer to find those nice small enhancements Apple has sprinkled in almost all parts of the OS.

* Shortcut to last app . This is nice. When you open a new app displays a shortcut in the upper left corner of the app you left. Press it again and you are back.

The function does not work in writing with apps running its own interface-type, including Spotify and Uber.

* Siri tips . When you scroll left (where you previously found in Spotlight older iOS versions) give Siri a list of the most used apps based on what time it is. Jogger you much in the morning you get a jogging app as the first results.

* News . Same place as Siris app suggestion is, you will find the three main news in the last day. We hope for more choice in the final version to be launched in September and it will probably probably happen, for nines gets its own news app.

News. We hope for more settings. ITavisen

* Side-by-side apps (only iPad). Apple has finally made it possible to run two apps side by side (iPad Air 2), or to view selected Apple apps in a smaller display on the right of the iPad screen.

To view a supported app on the left side, flick left.

The function works fine it but we never use it. Maybe it’s just us, or the lack of third-party app support.

* Battery-info . Yet another feature we like fight well because we have an Apple Watch. Pull down the Notification panel on an iPhone and see how much battery time it has. A very useful little widget.

* Advanced Search . You can search for settings in the Control Panel.

You can now search for settings, but Apple should nonetheless clean up this panel. ITavisen

* Improved battery-info . Now you can see how many minutes an application is active and how long it has lived in the background in the last day or the last week.

* Power Save Function . By lowering the performance, disable animations and background processes yields a few hours longer battery life.

A dedicated power save mode decreases performance, but improves life. Note that the battery is yellow when activated, and green when it is off. ITavisen

* Delete photos faster . Press edit. Then drag your finger across the images you want to delete.

You can swipe the images you want to delete by activating the edit mode. ITavisen
