The former chief designer for iPod, Tony Fadell, admits in an interview with BBC that perhaps was silly to sell an early version of Google Glass.
Maybe a mistake
Fadell said that although Google has always beta versions of its products and to receive feedback from users, there is a huge difference between hardware and software.
– If you work with services based on electrons, go fast go ahead, test it and modify it and get it done right, says Fadell.
– But when you work with actual atoms – hardware – and you have to go through the production tape and it takes over a year or more to develop the product, then you have to understand what it is, what it trying to do and what not to do, he said.
Still great faith
Fadell says that Google not asked if he would work with Glass, but that it was something he offered to do.
– I said “this is important.” It can be as important as the iPod and iPhone, but it can take time to do it right, says Fadell.
In March Google said X-chief Astro Teller stated why he thinks Google Glass failed.
