At the beginning of last year there was an end to updates with new dunk tions and fixes for Windows 7. Microsoft promised, however, that security updates would be released the next five years.
Unofficial update
Now Microsoft, something perhaps unexpected, released an unofficial service pack for Windows 7. the previous and remains the only official, was released in 2011.
Unfortunately it is not only just for users to obtain this update. It’s not via the Microsoft Download Center or the usual Windows Update.
Depending on Internet Explorer
Instead they use Microsoft Update Catalog. This is an old hand that was used in Windows XP ages and is only supported by Internet Explorer and uses ActiveX.
Microsoft has previously stated that those who are still using Windows 7, do it at your own risk. Users who want to upgrade for free to Windows 10, just over two months in.
