Spotify video coming this week – ITavisen.no

According to the Wall Street Journal is Spotify ready to launch video content on Android app later this week, while iOS users can access within the next week.

It is uncertain what Spotify will fill video service, but they have previously announced that they are collaborating with the BBC, Comedy Central, ESPN, MTV and Vice News.

Wall Street Journal writes that video service for the most part will consist of short videos of shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live and Epic Rap Battles.

Without ads
Spotify pays partners for video content, and Wall Street Journal writes that they do not plan to have ads in the service to fund it.

Instead, they would rather “give music fans what they want” and to monetize the service should currently not be a priority.

It is unclear which countries video content launched. Spotify shall have test the service in the US, UK, Germany and at home in Sweden.
