Finally nears the official launch.
Oculus announced yesterday that VR headset Rift will be available for pre-sale tomorrow at 17.00 Norwegian time.

They have neither the advertised price or market it will be available, but promise that they will inform more about it tomorrow. In addition, they plan to conduct a Reddit AMA at 3:00 am on Thursday, January 7.

Consumer Version tested
Last week we reported about the user Chaoss86 on Reddit who wrote that he has received and tested the latest version Oculus aimed at developers. This has been named Oculus Rift Consumer Beta – Engineer Sample 7 (ECV7).
Display and pixels
– the pixels are almost invisible now, but when you “really” focus so you can see a nice pattern. But this only applies to some colors. [...] The image is very well and is equally clear entire field of view. Dark and light colors feels like solid. [..] The screen feels (and looks) to be higher dissolved one DK1 / 2 and Vive / Gear. Text is razor sharp, the user types in his speech on Reddit.
FOV (Field of View)
So far suggests that also FOV has been an improvement in this version and now of the best available on the market. The post can be interpreted that it is shorter vertically but has gained a significant horizontal enhancement. The user has even made this artwork to illustrate FOV in GearVR, DK1, DK2 and Vive.
