Apple will have 324 million for each secret – ITavisen.no

Fears that sapphire glass factory will reveal itself.

Tuesday, 14th October 2014 – 9:54

A week ago we wrote about Apple sapphire glass manufacturer GT Advanced Technologies, which was delivered to skejrmglass iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.

Absolutely all secret
Then it turned out that the factory, which was built in collaboration with Apple, not was completed quickly enough. And thus had the factory ask for bankruptcy protection.

The terms of protection and the documents delivered the American bankruptcy law is strictly secret. Even the the confidentiality is secret …

Apple’s third party
reason is quite obvious. Apple requires namely $ 50 million – about 324 million Norwegian kroner – for every secret that may be revealed about the collaboration between GT Advanced Technologies and them.

This also is secret course. But the Financial Times (subscription required) reveals that the third party referred to in court documents, Apple, and that therefore they are coming with the extreme claims for damages on GT Advanced Technologies leaks or contribute to a leak.

Approaches documents
In the document it is stated (our translation):

Gtat (GT Advanced Technologies, journ. note.) is committed to comply in order to avoid the risk of liquid claims in the range of $ 50 million per. violations under the applicable confidentiality agreement against third parties, an agreement that the parties themselves obliged to keep secret.

(Original text: Gtat is compelled two make this request to avoid the risk of Liquidated damages claims in the amount of $ 50 million per violation under certainties confidentiality agreements Involving a third party, wooden agreements themelves are required to be kept confidential.)

Disappointed and puzzled
It should be added that Apple has expressed surprise that Gtat have sought bankruptcy protection, and it apparently has set for itself a work even after it became clear that the sapphire glass should not be used in the display section of the iPhone 6 .

This situation is now between the two firms, many fear that Apple’s large sapphire crystal plane may be at risk.

There are few, if any, other manufacturers out there that can produce sapphire crystal in the quantities and sizes that Apple requires.
