Problems installing the large Windows 10 update? – ITavisen.no

Yesterday, Microsoft released the big August update to Windows 10.

Since Windows 10 installed on a massive number of PCs -er and tablets with countless different configurations, it is not surprising if some problem is encountered during the update.

Windows Central has published an extensive article that addresses the most common problems can be encountered during the upgrade, and we point out some of them.

1. Windows 10 will not be activated after installation. If this happens, use the “Activation Troubleshooter” tool:

  • Open Settings .
  • Go Update and security .
  • Touch Activate.
  • Select Troubleshooting .

2. Problems with installing the update. Download “Windows Update Troubleshoot” tool and see if that fixes the problem.

3. Settings could not be transferred from Windows 10 to August update. This is a known problem that Microsoft is working to resolve. The problem affects Pen & amp; Windows Ink, Notifications, Tablet Mode and Virtual Desktop.

4. Problems Installing Edge extensions. To install extensions right:

  • Open Microsoft Edge , select More Extensions Get extensions Store .
  • Find extension and press Free to install.
  • Once installed switching back to Edge.
  • Read alerted and select “ Turn on ” .

5. Problems completing the installation of the August update. If you get an error message that the update was installed, you can look up the error via the error code.

It is not an exact solution to the problem above, but you can look up the error code online. The error code can be found by going to:

  • Open Settings.
  • Select Update and security .
  • Select Advanced options .
  • Select View update history .
  • you can find updates that have been installed and that failed. Press the one that failed, select More and note the error code.

Windows Central adds that this problem often comes to old notebooks. A solution should be to turn the unit off, unplug the power cable, remove the battery for about a minute and try again.
