In May this year, we announced a couple of new communication applications from Google, one of which would be a simple app for video calling, called “Duo”. Now join Google in its official blog that the application is finally launched.
Duo is designed specifically for making video calls as simple as possible, which means that Google has cleaned away all “unnecessary” fiksfakseri and made the interface as minimalist as possible .
Byr preview
the app requires no separate account and allows you to start video conversations with others in your contacts list using just the phone number and a single touch.
Completely naked is the app does not, then Google has equipped it with an understated feature called “knock knock”. This works by getting a preview of the caller before you answer the call, which should give an indication of what the call is about.
Should work well on bad lines
Google writes that the point of this feature is to make the calls less intrusive and disruptive. Otherwise, it is worth noting that the app according to Google is optimized in such a way that it will run without hiccups and interruptions even weak lines.
The app also switches between Wi-Fi and mobile networks automatically after what is available while on the move. The talks are otherwise “end-to-end” -Encrypt to prevent snooping intruders. Duo is about to be rolled out to both Android and iOS these days.
Below you can see a small introduction video Google has put together.
Apple has also created an Android app: Apple Music for Android is now finally out of beta “
